Abducted persons rescued meet Minister Suklabaidya to express gratitude

July 9: Two persons who were rescued from abductors met Minister for Environment and Forest, Parimal Suklabaidya at his official residence on Friday to express their gratitude to him for his help leading to their rescue. Jayanta Kachari and Kushal Kalita who were involved in afforestation work were abducted from Garbhanga Reserve Forest on June 30.

Following their abduction, Minister Suklabaidya rang up the top police brass to launch an operation to rescue the persons from the clutches of abductors. On July 3 they were rescued at Rani along the Assam-Meghalaya inter-state border at around 5 pm. Minister Suklabaidya felicitated both of them and enquired about their health and well being. The Minister also thanked the police administration for rescuing the abducted persons.
