AAM, Cachar district donates Rs.15,000 to Assam Arogya Nidhi

April 21: It is a matter of grave concern that the whole world is facing an unprecedented health crisis due to the deadly coronavirus. At the same time, it is heartening to see that a large number of individuals and organizations are extending their support to the fight against COVID-19. In this situation, the members of Assam Academy of Mathematics, Cachar District Branch have also decided to make a small contribution to the effort of Assam Government in dealing with the crisis.

A sum of Rs. 15,000 has been collected from the members of AAM Cachar District Branch and the same has been transferred to the SBI account of Assam Arogya Nidhi with the hope that the amount will find its use in some way for the fight against this pandemic.

It is worthy to be mentioned that the lockdown due to the pandemic hasn’t stopped the AAM Cachar District from continuing with its mathematical activities. The classes of the Three Months Certificate Course on Mathematics Olympiads, jointly offered by Department of Mathematics, G.C. College and AAM Cachar District, are being conducted through video lectures in YouTube. The members of AAM Cachar District wish that the global pandemic ends soon. This was stated in a press release issued by Dr. Debashish Sharma, General Secretary of Assam Academy of Mathematics, Cachar District Branch.
