Inner Wheel Club Silchar pays rich tribute to the language martyrs

20 May: There are certain days which goes down the annals of history for time immemorial and becomes a source of inspiration and a signature event for posterity to take pride in. 19 May is such a date for the people of Barak Valley, which would remain alive forever in the heart of hearts of millions who loves & respects their own mother tongue. Although in a miniature scale due to to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, yet the people of Barak Valley observed the day.

Maintaining Covid protocols, Inner Wheel Club (IWC), Silchar also paid tribute to the language martyrs at Gandhi Bagh on 19 May. At the martyr’s memorial there, floral tributes were offered by would be President of IWC, Silchar, Shilpi Ghosh and the would be Secretary Minu Choudhury. Later on expressing their views, the duo said, “Every year, the members of IWC, Silchar pays their tribute to the brave hearts. But due to the 2nd wave of Covid, abiding the government guidelines, we offered tribute at the altar of the martyr’s on behalf of our organisation.”
