With 42 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 262 on 11 May, 3 deaths registered

Active cases 981 in Cachar

May 11: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 10.45 PM. As per the latest data, 42 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 262 persons were found positive in the district on 11 May. Earlier, at 6.30 PM, it was informed that 220 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has now gone up to 981. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Monday was 369. There are 981 active cases in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,617 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 203 persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas 59 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Tuesday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 3,050 in 2021, whereas during the year, 2,046 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed informed that out of the 981 active patients:

  • 208 of them are admitted at SMCH
  • 04 in MH
  • 16 at SMDCH
  • 29 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
  • 13 at CRPF Doyapur
  • 22 at Gracewell Nursing Home
  • 12 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
  • 677 patients are in home isolation.

Tuesday witnessed demise of two more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) & 01 at Cachar Cancer Hospital. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their details report were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. The deceased were identified as:

  • Jiten Chandra Das (67) from Chandrapur at Lala in Hailakandi was admitted at SMCH on 9 May. He, however, breathed his last at 4.50 AM on 11 May, 2021.
  • Dilip Kumar Singh (65) also from Lala in Hailakandi was admitted at SMCH on 5 May. He succumbed to the infection at 10.30 AM on 11 May.
  • Rita Nunia (25) died at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre on 11 May. However, till the filing of this report, further details were not available about her.
