Huge spike! 51 new COVID cases detected in Hailakandi on Wednesday

May 5: Hailakandi registered highest ever spike in a single day with detection of 51 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, pushing the coronavirus tally in the district to 3,654. Of the 51 active cases detected on Wednesday, 50 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Results of 405 samples are being awaited from Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The district has altogether 191 active COVID-19 cases while 3,439 patients have recuperated from the disease. 21 patients are presently undergoing treatment at SK Roy Civil Hospital, 06 at Silchar Medical College and Hospital, 155 kept under home isolation, 07 in other districts and 02 absconding. 566 samples were taken on Wednesday. Altogether 1,82,638 samples have been tested so far with 1,77,632 found negative and 3,654 positive.
