Owners of pharmacies & diagnostic centers of Cachar to register under Assam Clinical establishments Act

Dec. 31: The owners, proprietors of pharmacies and diagnostic centres of Cachar were directed to register themselves under Assam Clinical Establishment (Registration & Regulation) Act, 2010 within 7 January, 2021. Issuing a letter to this effect on Thursday, Joint Director of Health Services & Convenor, District Registering Authority, Cachar, Dr Sudip Jyoti Das stated that many establishments, particularly pharmacies and Diagnostic centers etc. are running doctors OPD Chambers without getting themselves registered under Assam Clinical Establishment Registration and Regulation Act, 2010.

In this regard, they were directed to contact office of the Joint Director of Health Services Cachar during office hours regarding registration process under Assam Clinical Establishment Registration and Regulation Act, 2010.
The order further stated that if any establishment is found running doctors OPD Chambers without obtaining registration after the stipulated time, then legal action will be initiated against them as per rule.
