CM Sonowal buys earthen diyas, urges people to go local this Diwali
Nov. 13: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal made an appeal to the people of the state to purchase and use earthen lamps (diyas) instead of using Chinese lights/ products to celebrate the festival of light Diwali. He further appealed to the people to support the poor local artisans by purchasing had made earthen diyas.

Setting an example, the Chief Minister on Friday himself purchased earthen diyas from local potter at Kamakhya Gate in Guwahati. He also interacted with the potters who were selling earthen diyas and other clay products on the side of the streets. State Minister Pijush Hazarika was also along with the Chief Minister.
