বিদ্যুতের ছোবলে হাইলাকান্দিতে মহিলার মৃত্যু
Lady died at Hailakandi after being electrocuted

৪ নভেম্বরঃ হাইাকান্দি জেলার অলইছড়ায় বিদ্যুস্পৃষ্ট হয়ে এক মহিলার মৃত্যু হয়েছে। বিদ্যুত পরিবাহী তার রাস্তায় পড়ে থাকলে আচমকা ওই পথ পেরোতে গিয়ে সোমা দেব নামে এক মহিলা মারা যান।

November 4: A lady from a place called Aloichera in Hailakandi district of Assam died after being electrocuted. The incident took place on Sunday morning. IT was a sheer accident when electric wire was torn and it fell on the ground. Being barefoot, Soma Deb,  her husband Mihir Deb and her brother-in-law Moloy Deb were electrocuted. They were rushed to primary Health Centre at Katlichera, but the doctors declared Soma as dead. Her husband and brother-in-law was lucky enough to survive the ordeal and are at present hospitalized.

On getting information, people from the nearby areas crowded the house of the deceased. The angry mob blocked the 154 No. National Highway and alleged that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the electricity department. Later on officials from District & Police administration, Engineer from Electricity Department reached the spot and somehow convinced the people of repairing the electric lines within 1 week. MLA Sujam Uddin laskar also came to the spot and gave a cash amount of Rs 5000 to the family of the deceased. Later on, the road blockade was withdrawn.
