Record fall in +ve cases in Cachar as only 84 found infected on Sunday
No Covid deaths at SMCH in last 24 hours
Sept. 6: After a long time, the daily count of novel coronavirus cases in Cachar district came below 100. On Sunday, only 84 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the district. Out of the 84 new cases, 79 were found positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas only 5 from Cachar were tested positive in RT-PCR. During the day, 781 rapid tests were done. Though this is a good sign, yet the fact remains that when more tests are done, the number of positive cases becomes more and vice versa. One is proportionally related with the other. But on an optimistic note, this could well be some indication of the beginning of the declining graph.
In the last 24 hours, 157 persons were screened at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Apart from this, 597 throat swabs were collected. 877 RT-PCR Tests were also done in the last 24 hours, out of which 56 were detected as COVID-19 positive. On the other hand, out of 141 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) done at SMCH, 25 were found positive.
In the last 24 hours, 41 patients of coronavirus were admitted at SMCH while 16 of them were discharged. There are at present 202 COVID-19 patients admitted at SMCH, out of which, 16 are in ICU and 2 of them in ventilator. Around 52 patients were reported to be critical at present. 7 patients now are under oxygen support. 79 persons donated plasma as of now, which was administered to 153 Covid patients. There are no cases of death at SMCH in the last 24 hours. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH.
