146 tests corona +ve in Cachar on Friday, 22 patients critical at SMCH
4 more persons from Cachar Cancer Hospital detected positive
September 4: On Friday, 146 persons were detected as novel coronavirus positive in Cachar district. During the day, a total of 1421 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 105 were found positive, whereas, another 41 persons tested positive in RT-PCR Test. There is probability that the number of positive cases may increase at night. This was informed by Suman Choudhry, District Media Expert on Friday evening. As of now, the COVID-19 tally of Cachar district has gone upto 7,201.
During his routine briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) said, “As of now, 22 patients of novel coronavirus admitted at SMCH are in critical condition. Another 54 persons are put under oxygen support. A total of 181 COVID-19 patients are now admitted at SMCH. At present, 13 persons are now admitted in ICU and 2 of them kept in ventilation. In the last 24 hours, 1 person died at SMCH. Till now, 109 patients have died at SMCH, out of which 42 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as Covid confirm deaths.”
In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test Results on Friday, 37 persons were detected as COCID-19 positive in Cachar district. Out of them, 3 persons are from Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (CCHRC). Apart from them, 13 persons in this slot are from Masimpur Military Station. All of them came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed cases.
Three of them in this slot are from Labock Tea Estate who were detected with Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms. Another 8 persons from Kumba Tea Estate were also found positive during the day. Two more persons from Joypur Police Station came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case and were detected as COVID-19 positive.
Five persons of a same family at 1st Link Road, Silchar were also detected positive on Friday. They are 39-year-old male, 35-year-old male, 32-year-old female, 7-year-old child and 71-year-old male. Two more persons from a same family at Girish Road, Tarapur were also found positive. They are a 37 years old male and a 30 years old female. All of them are asymptomatic but were infected as they came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed cases.
In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test Results, 04 persons were found positive. They are a 21 years old female & 54 years old female from Das Para in Athal Basti; a 36-year-old female from Tarapur Part-6 and a 24 years old female from Uttar Mohanpur, Sonai. A 50 years old male from Karimganj but now admitted at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre also tested positive. However, their source of getting infected was not mentioned in the SRF.
