Date for RT-PCR test for teachers extended till 18 Sept, only 50% teachers & staff to join from 21 Sept

August 31: In partial modification of the notification issued by Higher Education Department, vide memo No. AHE. 202/ 2020/38, dated 19 August, 2020, the Government in Education Department issued a fresh notification on 31 August, wherein it was stated, “All employees, both teaching and non- teaching staff of schools, colleges, universities, technical colleges/ institutions and Teacher Training Institutions/ Colleges will undergo COVID-19 test upto 18 September’ 2020 as per protocol of District Administration and Health and Family Welfare Department issued from time to time.”

Further, the notification issued on 31 August by Preetom Saikia, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Education Department in the same notification stated, “Teachers (50% of teaching and non-teaching staff at a time) should attend their respective Institutions w.e.f. 21 September 2020, for which subsequent instructions will be issued by the Education Department, Govt. of Assam based on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which will be developed by the MoHFW (Govt. of India).”

So the version of this notification makes it clear that from 1 September, 2020, the teachers need not go to their respective institutions as stated earlier. Now they are supposed to attend their institutions from 21 September onwards.
