‘Prachestha’ marches ahead performing philanthropic activities

August 23: “Prachestha”, a socio-cultural organisation of Silchar started its journey on 10 August, 2020 by doing some philanthropic activities. Since then, they are marching ahead with more and more social service activities. On Friday, the all female members of Prachestha went to Yakub Ali Barlaskar Lane at Kanakpur, Silchar and distributed face masks, dettol soaps and food materials among the poor and needy people of the locality.

Infact, it was the birthday of Joint Secretary Omrita Sinha’s husband, Sanjay Kumar Sinha on 21 August. However, inspite of celebrating the day with family and friends, Omrita decided to celebrate it with the disadvantaged people of the society. Her proposal was readily accepted by the other members of Prachestha. So they hurriedly made all arrangements and went to Kanakpur area, where the birthday of the husband of their Joint Secretary was celebrated along with the people of that locality.

Present during the occasion were President of Prachestha Aloka Deb, Vice President Dipanjali Deb, Secretary Rakhi Roy, Joint Secretary Omrita Sinha, Treasurer Pompi Rani Deb and Organising Secretary Jayeeta Deb.
