Cachar registers 17 more +ve cases on Friday, day’s total 43

A total of 83 persons tested +ve in Cachar in 2 days

July 10: On Friday, 26 persons tested positive from across Cachar district in the first slot. Whereas, in late evening, news came in of 17 fresh COVID-19 positive cases. With this, the day’s total of Cachar district went upto 43. It needs mention here that on Thursday, 40 persons tested positive in Cachar. That means, till the filing of this report, 83 persons were tested positive in Cachar district alone.

The 17 fresh positive cases which were declared on Friday late evening includes mostly persons from the armed forces. Out of 17 cases, only two were civilians. They are Sajal Deb (59) and Sewli Deb (50) from Kalain CHC in Cachar. Both of them do not have any travel history and were detected positive through Assam Targeted Surveillance Program (ATSP). Their swab samples were collected on 9 July and the reports were provided on 10 July. Both of them are asymptomatic.

Apart from these two civilians, another 12 positive patients detected on Friday were from 68th SSB Katigorah in Cachar. These 12 patients are staff of SSB Katigorah. They are: Basudev Malakar (26), Dipul Rabha (27), Manjit Narjary (27), Binoy Biswas (29), Suneel Kumar (29), Sharvan Kumar (38), Md. Hasrat Kamal (33), Nandolal Das (61), Gokul Barman (27), Prajal ray (30), Rahul Singh (27) and Radheshyam Mondal (30), Their swab samples were collected on 9 July and their reports came on 10 July. All of them are asymptomatic.

Apart from them, 28-year-old Sompa Nath, Home Guard at Dayapur, Cachar also tested positive on Friday. She travelled by air from Kolkata to Silchar. Her swab sample was collected on 7 July and the reports came on 10 July. She is asymptomatic. Another BSF staff, Nitin Kumar Sharma (28) from BSF Masimpur tested positive. He has got a travel history as he came from Uttar Pradesh by air. He too is asymptomatic.
