3 more persons die in Assam due to COVID-19 on Friday, death tally rises to 35

Total 8 deaths reported in Assam on Friday

July 10: In an unfortunate turn of events, Assam recorded another 3 deaths due to COVID-19. With this, 8 persons were reported to have died on Friday in the state due to coronavirus. Sharing this information, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa tweeted the details of the 3 death cases. They are Ashok Jain (63) of Athgaon, Vinod Kumar (47) of Jalukbari & Dipali Dutta (65) of Sarumataria admitted at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) who succumbed to their infection on Friday. They had severe pnuemonia & were on invasive ventilation.

The others who lost their lives due to COVID-19 on Friday are Rakhal Deb (42), Ramesh Kayastha (68), Sukhamay Bhowmik (72) and Arahi Baruah Saikia (70). They were admitted at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) ICU. However, all of them succumbed to the infection. 

Another person, Hareswar Nath (53), a non-symptomatic patient with no co-morbidity succumbed to COVID-19 at IITG COVID care centre. His oxygen levels plummeted to 90 within hours and he collapsed. With this, death toll in Assam reached 32.
