Another 2 new +ve cases in Cachar, day’s total jumps to 26

July 8: On Wednesday, 26 persons were already reported to be positive. At night, reports came in about 2 new COVID-19 positive cases (5th lot). Among them is a 53 years old person Juthika Paul from Public School Road, Silchar, who is an employee of Green Heals Hospital. This patient is asymptomatic HCW who came in contact with a confirmed patient. Her swab sample was taken on 5 July and the report came on 8 July.

The second positive case from Cachar is a 63-year-old female, Kolabati Sinha from Bekirpar-V. She also is asymptomatic. She was in direct and high risk contact of lab confirmed case. His swab sample was also taken on 5 July and the report came on 8 July.

With this, Cachar recorded a total of 26 COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday.
