3 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Manipur
May 16: Manipur reported three more positive cases on Saturday. With this the total of number of positive cases in the state has gone up to to six. A female, aged 76, and her son, aged 48, were tested positive at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). They belong to a group of 36 people who returned from Mumbai on May 8 by bus and reached Manipur on May 13. The duo has reportedly been admitted to the RIMS and contact tracing has been initiated. Later in the day, another female, aged 22, was tested positive.
Another COVID-19 positive case was reported in the early hours of Saturday and was taken to the District Hospital of Churachandpur. Additional Director of the Health Department Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said that a nursing professional who had returned from Kolkata, also tested positive for COVID-19. She is now admitted to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS). With this the total of number of positive cases in Manipur has gone upto 7.
