Another 3 tests positive for COVID-19 in Assam, total rises to 62

May 9: Three persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in Assam. This time the persons were detected in Jorhat district of Assam. Tweeting this, State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote that three persons including an ambulance driver who came from Mumbai driving the two persons in the vehicle tested positive in Jorhat. He also stated that the driver was sent back to Mumbai. The other two persons were admitted at Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH). With this, the total tally of Assam has gone up to 62. However, as 34 persons were already discharged, so the total number of active corona patients in Assam is 27.

The minister tweeted, “Alert ~ 3 people, incl an Ambulance Driver from Mumbai who drove the 2, test #COVID19 + in Jorhat. Driver sent back to Mumbai. 2 are at JMCH since their arrival in Jorhat. #COVID19 patients in Assam 62. Active cases 27. Discharged 34.”
