District administration provides ration to 1500 families in remote areas of Hailakandi

April 11: Amidst the ongoing national lockdown, Hailakandi district administration has undertaken a number of activities to help people. On Saturday, a team led by Parikshit Phukan, Assistant Commissioner distributed ration to last for 7 days to around 1500 families of the remote South Hailakandi Development Block.

The distribution of ration to these poor and needy families was undertaken with active support of eight prominent businessmen who jointly contributed Rs. 6.5 lakhs. Out of these eight persons, one of them alone donated Rs.5.5 lakh. With more people willing to contribute, the district is all prepared to reach another 500 families and help them with food stuff.
