No question about +ve or -ve, 2nd test of COVID-19 patient not done: SMCH

৩ এপ্রিল: করোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত বদরপুরের জামালউদ্দিনের সেকেন্ড টেস্ট এখনও হয়নি৷ ফলে তা পজিটিভ না নেগেটিভ, প্রশ্নটিই অবান্তর৷ স্পষ্টভাবে এই মন্তব্য করেন শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজের উপাধ্যক্ষ ডা. ভাস্কর গুপ্ত৷ পাশে ছিলেন অতিরিক্ত জেলাশাসক তথা শিলচরের পুরপ্রধান সুমিত সত্যবান ও জেলা স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের মিডিয়া এক্সপার্ট সুমন চৌধুরী৷

জামালউদ্দিনের রিপোর্ট নেগেটিভ, না কি পজিটিভই? দিনভর এই প্রশ্নের জবাব জানতে আগ্রহী ছিলেন সাধারণ জনতা৷ বাদ নন সাংবাদিক, চিত্র সাংবাদিক, ভিডিওগ্রাফাররাও৷ সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় করোনা চর্চা কমে গেলেও এক সংবাদপত্রের এ সংক্রান্ত রিপোর্টকে কেউ কেউ অসত্য বলে মন্তব্য করেন৷ ওযেটুবরাক এর সত্যতা জানতে কথা বলে সাংসদ ডাক্তার রাজদীপ রায়ের সঙ্গে৷ রাজদীপবাবু স্পষ্টই বলে দেন, পজিটিভ ধরা পড়লে চৌদ্দদিনের আগে সেকেন্ড টেস্ট হয় না৷

একই সুরে ডা. গুপ্ত বলেন, অথবা, কারও পজিটিভ ধরা পড়লে তার করোনা লক্ষণগুলি পুরো নিঃশেষ হওয়ার বাহাত্তর ঘণ্টা পরে সেকেন্ড টেস্ট হতে পারে৷ জামালউদ্দিনের ক্ষেত্রে সেটাও সম্ভব নয়৷ কারণ তাঁর শরীরে করোনা লক্ষণ এখনও বর্তমান৷

অতিরিক্ত জেলাশাসক সুমিতবাবু এই কঠোর সময়ে সংবাদ পরিবেশনে সতর্ক থাকতে বলেন৷ তিনি জানান, অসত্য সংবাদ পরিবেশন ইনসালট টু দ্য সিস্টেম৷ সে জন্য আইনি ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হতে পারে৷

April 3: The second test of coronavirus infected patient from Badarpur (in Karimganj district) admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) has not been performed. So there lies no question of whether the report is positive or negative. Dr. Bhaskar Gupta said this during the media briefing on Thursday. he regarded such question as total absurd at this point when the man undergoing treatment at SMCH was tested positive and no further 2nd test was done as of now. ADC Sumit Sattawan was also present during the media briefing.

The whole day, people expressed curiosity about the results of the 2nd test of the COVID-19 positive patient admitted at SMCH. Apart from common people, even the journalists were keen to know the fact. Though corona related discussions are now done very less in social media, but the report published in one newspaper became the centre of discussion and some termed the report as incorrect.

In order to ascertain the truth, way2barak called Dr. Rajdeep Roy. The MP who is also a renowned doctor categorically stated that the 2nd test will be done only after 14 days and not before that.

In the same tune, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH said in some cases after 72 hours of detection of coronavirus, if all symptoms are cured, then the 2nd test can be done. But this is not possible in the case of the corona positive man admitted at SMCH because the COVID-19 virus is still there in his body.

ADC Sumit Sattawan urged upon the journalists to be extra cautious was writing any news item. He said, “Writing fake news is an insult to the system. Legal action may be taken for this purpose.”
