Coronavirus: Cachar district administration adopt preventive measures

March 6: The out break of novel corona virus(COIVD-19) is a potential threat to the human lives. As a preventive measure, District Administration Cachar has taken different steps to create awareness among the general public and to curtail entry & spread of the deadly virus in the district. For this, surveillance of the out break of novel corona virus(COIVD-19) is required for visitors in Silchar for different purposes.

In this connection, all the hotels and lodges were informed to submit daily report as per format supplied to them to the District Surveillance Office, Silchar on the first floor of S.M Dev Civil Hospital main building and respective police station on a daily basis before 5 PM. It was further informed that non-compliance of this instruction will be viewed very seriously by the District Administration.

A Medical Team has been deployed at Silchar Airport by JDHS, Cachar and Superintendent of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) for screening and surveillance of passengers travelling by Air.

Information Kiosk will also be set up at SMCH & SM Dev Civil Hospital for public awareness. Leaflets will be distributed from the Kiosk. NATRIP has been identified as Quarantine facility as a part of preparedness for COVID19.

Orientation of doctors has been completed and very shortly orientation of private health care providers will be arranged. A control room has been set up at District Surveillance Unit, SM Dev Civil Hospital and one 8 bedded Isolation Ward has also been set up at SMCH.
