Sonai Cricket Association lifts Gauri Shankar Roy Memorial Trophy

March 6: The ‘C Division Prize Money Knockout Cricket Tournament 2020’ organised by District Sports Authority (DSA), Silchar came to an end. In a nail-biting final match on Thursday, ‘Sonai Cricket Association’ defeated ‘Kalain Sports Association’ to lift the ‘Gauri Shankar Roy Memorial Tdophy’ and the Prize money.

A record 41 teams had participated in the tournament. Present during the prize distribution ceremony were General Secretary of DSA Silchar, Bijendra Prasad Singh, Cricket Secretary Niranjan Das, Ajoy Chakraborty, Sujoy Dutta Roy, Arijit Gupta, Niloy Paul, Dipankar Deb, Ex District Cricketer Alok Sarkar and Sahabuddin Ahmed, Chandan Sharma, Dhrubo Bhattacharjee.

The guests of the ceremony President and Secretary of BUKSS Anirbanjoti Gupta and Dijendralal Das were also present during the prize distribution ceremony. Sanjeev Roy (Sponsor and Ex Cricketer) on behalf of the family of Late G.S.Roy, Chandrabati Roy, Nanda Roy, Bandita Trivedi Roy, Subham Roy and Rohan Roy were also present. Speaking during the occasion, Sanjeev Roy thanked Silchar DSA for bestowing upon him the honour.
