2-day training of staff for Census 2021 conducted at Silchar

February 27: A two-day training of charge assistants and technical assistants of Cachar district was held at the Conference Hall of Circuit House, Silchar on 24 and 25 February, 2020 in connection with Census 2021.

A group of officials from the Directorate of Census Operations, Assam comprising of Deputy Director of Census, S.N Mitra, Assistant Director of Census, S. Mukherjee and Senior Supervisor, Ashim Talukdar imparted detailed training on the various aspects of the census.

A total of 16 charge assistants from all the circle offices of Cachar District and municipal board and technical assistants from various government departments attended the two-day training programme. Attending the training on the first day, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Cachar A.R Majumder directed all officials present to ensure an error free enumeration as a correct database would help the government in effective planning and implementation of the policies meant for the welfare of the people. He also stressed on use of smart phones for the enumeration process as it would reduce the work load of enumerators to a large extent.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner also directed the officials to make the most out of the two days training and clear any doubts they have with the master trainers as they will play a significant role in the census operation. The training programme was also attended by District Information Officer, Rahul Das and Deputy Director of Statistics, Suman Choudhury.
