Assam University celebrates ‘Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat’ Club Day

December 27: Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat (EBSB) Club of Assam University, Silchar celebrated the EBSB Club Day on last Tuesday in the Department of Performing Arts of the varsity. At the outset, Nodal Officer Dr Debotosh sChakraborty welcomed the students, faculties and non-teaching Staff of the University and apprised the gathering about the purpose of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Programme initiated by the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also highlighted the importance of the celebration of the Club Day every month.

The other members of the Club, Dr. Pintu Saha, Dr. Himadri Shekhar Das, Dr. Sujit Ghosh and Dr. Joyashri Dey also spoke on the importance and need for celebration of the theme ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and inspired the students to spread the message of unity between the people of different cultures initiated by the Union Government.

During the occasion, students performed cultural events highlighting the spirit of unity in diversity. Folk Song and traditional dance of Rajasthan and Assam were performed by the students from various disciplines. Some of the students also delivered speeches on various cultural aspects of the paired state (Rajasthan). Their presentation showcased the cultural diversity of both Assam and Rajasthan.

Baishali Dey, Sangamitra Sinha, Shatakshi Bhowmik, Tamalika Roy, Manash Barman, Moutushi Das, Priyanka Choudhury, Poulami Endow, Aishwarya Chkakraborty, Nirmal Kumar Barman and others performed during the occasion. The Programme was compered by Sarada Jyoti Singha. The event was concluded with vote of thanks followed by a group photo session.
