After violent protest against CAA, internet & SMS suspended in 14 districts of UP

December 21: Amid ongoing protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, both internet and SMS services were suspended in 14 districts of the state. The services will remain suspended till 12 pm on Saturday.

Police also arrested 3503 persons in connection with violence in different parts of the state. The districts where internet and sms services were snapped include Lucknow, Bareilly, Meerut, Mau, Ghaziabad, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Agra and Unnao among others.
