Narsing School Alumni Association to organize ‘A Tribute to Kalika’ on Sept.11

রাক্তনীদের দ্বারাও একটি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের পরিচিতি অনেকাংশে নির্ভর করে। আর কালিকা প্রসাদ ভট্টাচার্যের মতো মর্যাদাসম্পন্ন একজন প্রাক্তনী অবশ্যই বিদ্যালয়ের মান যে উন্নত করবে, তা আর বলার অপেক্ষা রাখে না। যদিও ভাগ্যের পরিহাসে হঠাৎ করেই তাঁর জীবনের যাত্রা থেমে গিয়েছে, কিন্তু মৃত্যুর আগে পর্যন্ত কালিকা প্রসাদ তাঁর কাজের মাধ্যমে ছিলেন উজ্জ্বল। নরসিং হায়ার সেকেন্ডারি স্কুল অবশ্যই আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরে খ্যাতি পাওয়া এক প্রাক্তন ছাত্রকে নিয়ে গর্বিত। সেইসঙ্গে এই ঐতিহ্যবাহী স্কুলটির প্রাক্তনী সংস্থার কাছে তিনি আইকন হয়ে আছেন, থাকবেনও। ফলে তাঁর জন্মদিন উদযাপনের মাধ্যমেই তাঁকে স্মরণ করতে চান প্রাক্তনীরা। গত বছর কালিকা প্রসাদের মৃত্যুর পর নরসিং স্কুল প্রাক্তনী সংস্থা প্রথমবারের মতো ১১ সেপ্টেম্বর তাঁর জন্মদিন পালন করেছিল। সেটা ছিল একজন গায়ককে গানে গানে স্মরণ করা, যিনি বেঁচেছিলেন গানের জন্য, মৃত্যুও সেই গানকে ভালবেসেই।

এ বছরও নরসিং স্কুল প্রাক্তনী ছাত্র সংস্থা তাঁর জন্মদিন পালনের প্রস্তুতি নিয়েছে। এ উপলক্ষে সংস্থা অনুষ্ঠানের একটি রূপরেখাও চূড়ান্ত করেছে। নরসিং স্কুলে সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হয়ে আয়োজকদের অন্যতম সৌমিত্র শঙ্কর চৌধুরী বলেন, কালিকা প্রসাদ বহুমুখী প্রতিভার অধিকারী ছিলেন। কী ছিলেন না তিনি, একজন রবীন্দ্র অনুরাগী, একজন লোকশিল্পী, সত্যিকার অর্থেই এক উদ্ভাবনী প্রতিভা সম্পন্ন ব্যক্তিত্ব। ফলে তাঁর মতো শিল্পীকে চট করে একই ফ্রেমে নিয়ে আসা খুব সহজ নয়। কালিকা প্রসাদের সঙ্গে ব্যক্তিগত যোগাযোগ থাকা সৌমিত্র শঙ্কর আরও বলেছেন, কালিকা প্রসাদের বহুমুখী সত্তার কথা ভেবেই অনুষ্ঠানকে কয়েকটি পর্যায়ে ভাগ করা হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে একটি ‘রবীন্দ্রানুরাগী কালিকা প্রসাদ’। এই অনুষ্ঠানটি শুরু হবে ‘আমার রবীন্দ্রনাথ’ শিরোনামে কালিকা প্রসাদের সঙ্গে রঞ্জন মুখোপাধ্যায়ের সেই বিখ্যাত সাক্ষাৎকার দিয়ে। এই সাক্ষাৎকার ভিত্তিক অনুষ্ঠানটিকে এ দিন তর্জমা করবেন এ অঞ্চলের নামী প্রাবন্ধিক সঞ্জীব দেবলস্কর। এই পর্বে একাধিক রবীন্দ্র নৃত্যও স্থান পাবে।

দ্বিতীয় পর্বটি হচ্ছে ‘সৃজনশীল কালিকা প্রসাদ’। কালিকা প্রসাদের সৃষ্টি ও সৃজনশীল কাজকর্ম এতে স্থান পাবে। তার পরের অনুষ্ঠানটি রাখা হয়েছেন ‘গণশিল্পী কালিকা প্রসাদ’ শিরোনামে। এই পর্বে কলেজে পড়ার সময় কালিকা প্রসাদের নিজের লেখা কিছু অনবদ্য প্রতিবাদ মুখর গান পরিবেশিত হবে। চতুর্থ পর্বটির নামকরণ হয়েছে ‘লোক সঙ্গীতের কালিকা প্রসাদ’। এতে ধামাইল ও চড়ক নৃত্য প্রদর্শন করবেন শিল্পীরা। তাছাড়া গানের অনুষ্ঠানের পাশাপাশি চিত্রশিল্পীরা এই অনুষ্ঠানে ছবিও আঁকবেন। অনুষ্ঠানের একেবারে শেষে প্রজেক্টারের মাধ্যমে কালিকা প্রসাদের বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানের ঝলক দেখা যাবে।

আগামী ১১ সেপ্টেম্বর শিলচর বঙ্গ ভবনে কালিকা প্রসাদ ভট্টাচার্যের প্রতি সঙ্গীতময় শ্রদ্ধার্ঘ হিসেবে নিবেদিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থাকতে নরসিং স্কুল প্রাক্তনী ছাত্র সংস্থার পক্ষে সৌমিত্র শঙ্কর চৌধুরী অনুরোধ জানিয়েছেন। প্রাক্তনীদের পক্ষে কালিকা প্রসাদ অনুরাগীদের আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়েছেন সুরজিৎ সোম, দুলাল মিত্র, সেবায়ন রায়চৌধুরী, শুদ্ধসত্য চৌধুরী এবং বিক্রমজিত বাউলিয়াও।

An educational institution is known by its alumni. An alumnus of the stature of Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee would definitely elevate the status of that educational institution of which he was once a student. Though fate has cut short his journey of life, yet in his death, he shines bright. Narsing Higher Secondary School, Silchar can definitely boast to produce such a student who has earned international accolade. He is and he will be an icon forever even for the Alumni Association of this prestigious institution. What can be more befitting tribute to a legend, but to celebrate his birthday by his fellow alumni? After his death in 2017, Narsing H.S. School Alumni Association celebrated his birthday in a befitting manner for the 1^st time on 11 September 2017. It was a musical tribute organized in honour of an artist who lived and died for music.

This year too, the Alumni Association of Narsing School has geared up to celebrate his birthday. A detailed programme has been chalked up by the Alumni Association. In this connection the Association organized a press meet at Silchar Narsing H.S. School on Wednesday and briefed the media how they would be celebrating the birthday of their fellow alumnus Prasad.

Speaking to way2barak, Saumitro Choudhury one of the organizers and close associate of Kalika unfolded his various facets of life. He said that Kalika was a multi-faceted personality. He was a Rabindra lover, a creative genius, a folk artist and what not. It is indeed difficult to portray Kalika in a single frame. Mr. Choudhury informed that keeping in tune with the multiple wings of Kalika, the programme was also divided into certain segments, which would first include ‘Rabindranuragi Kalika Prasad’. This would start with a clipping of the famous interview of Kalika with Ranjan Mukherjee, entitled “Amar Rabindranath”. This would follow with an analysis of this interview by an erudite personality, Sabjib Deb Laskar. Various dance items based on Tagore’s work will also be performed.

The 2^nd phase will be based on “Srijonshil Kalika Prasad”. The creative aspect of Kalika will be highlighted in this category. This will be followed by “Gano Shilpi Kalika Prasad.” Some of the unique protest songs of Kalika written by him in his college days will be performed during this session. The 4^th category has been named as “Loko Sangeet er Kalika Prasad.” Popular ‘dhamail’ and ‘charak dance’ will be showcased in this session. Meanwhile, painters will also draw pictures along with the musical performances. The programme would end with visuals of Kalika Prasad performing in different shows.

Saumitro Choudhury on behalf of the Alumni Association requested all to be present at Silchar Banga Bhavan on September 11 to be a witness to the musical tribute which will be offered to Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee. Apart from Mr. Choudhury, others who were present in press meet were Surajit Shome, Dulal Mitra, Sebayan Roy Choudhury, Sudhhasatta Choudhury and Bikramjit Bauliya.
