August 26: The last date for filing annual Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns has been extended by the Ministry of Finance by three months to 30 November as taxpayers were facing technical problems in furnishing returns. Earlier, GST taxpayers were to file required returns by 31 August, 2019.

While extending the date, the CBIC said “certain technical problems are being faced” by the taxpayers as a result annual return for the period 1 July, 2017 to 31 March, 2018 could not be furnished by persons registered under GST.
