Massive rally marks the grand beginning of Golden Jubilee celebration of N.C. College Badarpur
August 7: It was indeed a feast for the eyes. Hardly a rally of such big magnitude was witnessed in recent times in Barak Valley. The occasion was the beginning of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Nabin Chandra College (N.C. College), Badarpur. Eye witnesses revealed that the rally was almost 1.5 kms long.
The Golden Jubilee Celebrations began on 7 August, 2019 at 9 AM with a colourful procession. The procession started from NC College premises and passed through Station Road, Netaji Nagar Road, Hill Colony, Railway Gate, Hanuman Mandir, Railway Station Approach Road, Madrassa Road, Station Road and finally returned back to the college. Interestingly, when one end of the rally entered the college, it then took around 1 hour for the other end to reach there.
Governing Body President Amio Kumar Paul and Principal of the college Dr. Moortuja Hussain gave a befitting leadership to this huge rally. Students, teachers, staff, former students, former faculty members, NCC cadets, NSS, various socio-cultural organisations and even local people took part in this historic rally.
In this connection, on 3 August, 2019, the college song of NC College, Badarpur was officially inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Mortuja Hussain after being unanimous approved by the teachers, staff and students of the college in a meeting. The college song was sung beautifully which can be watched in the video uploaded beneath.
On 10 August, 2019, a Golden Jubilee lecture will be organised in the college auditorium. Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest of this programme. Along with him, the other dignitaries who will be present during the lecture session are Dr. Sanjeev Bhattacharjee, Registrar of Assam University, State Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, MP Karimganj Kripanath Mallah and MLA Badarpur Jamal Uddin Ahmed.
In connection with the Golden Jubilee Celebration, games and sports competition will be held in the college campus on 15 August, 2019. On the same day, fruits will be distributed among the patients of Badarpur Railway Hospital, Srigouri Hospital, Badarpur SHC and Badarpur Hospital. The other events which will be held on later dates include free health camp, blood donation camp, celebration of NCC & NSS Day, quiz, debate and music competitions. A souvenir highlighting the various aspects of NC College since its very inception will also be released.
The closing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Celebration will be held in the month of December wherein Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal and Education Minister Sidhhartha Bhattacharjee will be invited. People of Badarpur have expressed the view that under the able leadership of its present Principal Mortuja Hussain, the institution has ascended great heights in every respect.
