Head-on collision between car & bike at new Sadarghat bridge, 2 injured

May 27: A major accident occurred over the new Sadarghat bridge at Silchar on Monday evening in which two persons were seriously inured. Infact, it was a head-on collision between a Honda scooty and a Maruti Alto.

Traffic police sources revealed that the scooty was in wrong lane, as a result of which the accident occurred. The scooty was supposed to have used the old bridge but instead it made its way through the new one. As a result of disregarding traffic rules, the accident took place.

The scooty rider Rijon Ahmed Barbhuiya (32) and the pillion rider Adbul Munim Laskar (60) suffered injuries. Both the injured were rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
