76 Artisans Receive Certificates under PM Vishwakarma Project at Assam University

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি : প্রাচীন ঝুড়ি শিল্পকে আধুনিক রূপ দিয়ে স্বনির্ভরতার পথে এগিয়ে নেওয়ার উদ্যোগ নিল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। প্রধানমন্ত্রী বিশ্বকর্মা প্রকল্পের অধীনে ঝুড়ি তৈরির প্রাথমিক প্রশিক্ষণ সম্পূর্ণ করা ৭৬ জন কারিগরকে বুধবার শংসাপত্র প্রদান করা হয়। আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্কিল হাব ইউনিটের উদ্যোগে প্রেমেন্দ্র মোহন গোস্বামী সভাকক্ষে এই শংসাপত্র বিতরণ অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজিত হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে পৌরোহিত্য করেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ।

প্রশিক্ষণপ্রাপ্ত কারিগরদের অধিকাংশই মহিলা। তাঁদের অধ্যবসায়ের প্রশংসা করে উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক পন্থ বলেন, মহিলাদের দক্ষ করে তুললেই আত্মনির্ভর ও বিকশিত ভারতের ভিত মজবুত হবে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী বিশ্বকর্মা প্রকল্পকে ঐতিহ্যবাহী কারিগরদের দক্ষতা স্বীকৃতি ও মর্যাদা দেওয়ার একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উদ্যোগ বলেও উল্লেখ করেন তিনি।

স্বাগত ভাষণে প্রকল্পের সমন্বয়ক ড. অদিতি নাথ জানান, ন্যাশনাল স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট কর্পোরেশনের সহযোগিতায় এই প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচি শুরু করা হয়েছে। ইট গাঁথুনি থেকে ঝুড়ি শিল্প—বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে এখনও পর্যন্ত পাঁচশোরও বেশি মানুষকে প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়েছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্কিল হাব।

অনলাইনে অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দিয়ে এনএসডিসি-র রাজ্য এনগেজমেন্ট অফিসার শিলাদিত্য সরকার ঝুড়ি শিল্পীদের জন্য উন্নততর প্রশিক্ষণের প্রস্তাব দেন। আধুনিক নকশা ও বাজারমুখী দক্ষতার ওপর জোর দেওয়ার কথাও বলেন তিনি। তাঁর এই প্রস্তাবে সম্মতি জানিয়েছেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক পন্থ।

অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিত্ত আধিকারিক ড. শুভদীপ ধর-সহ স্কিল হাবের সদস্য প্রফেসর দেবমাল্য ঘোষ, ড. অজিতা তিওয়ারি। এছাড়াও উপস্থিত ছিলেন অধ্যাপক এম গঙ্গাভূষণ ও অধ্যাপক আলফারিদ হুসেন।

Way2barak, February 5 : Assam University has taken an initiative to modernise the traditional basketry industry and promote self-reliance. On Wednesday, the university awarded certificates to 76 artisans who successfully completed basic training in basket making under the Prime Minister’s Vishwakarma Project. The certificate distribution ceremony was organised by the university’s Skill Hub Unit at the Premendra Mohan Goswami Auditorium. The programme was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant.

Most of the trained artisans were women. Praising their dedication, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pant said that empowering women with skills would strengthen the foundation of a self-reliant and developed India. He also described the Prime Minister’s Vishwakarma Project as a significant initiative aimed at recognising and dignifying the skills of traditional artisans.

In her welcome address, Project Coordinator Dr Aditi Nath informed that the training programme was launched in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). She added that the university’s Skill Hub has so far trained more than 500 people in various fields, ranging from brick masonry to basketry.

Joining the programme online, NSDC State Engagement Officer Shiladitya Sarkar proposed advanced training for basket artisans, with an emphasis on modern designs and market-oriented skills. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pant expressed his agreement with the proposal.

Among those present at the event were University Finance Officer Dr Shubhadeep Dhar, Skill Hub members Prof. Debomalya Ghosh and Dr Ajita Tiwari, along with Prof. M Gangabhushan and Prof. Alfarid Hussain.
