ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২৩ জানুয়ারি : পুণেতে আগামী ২৭ জানুয়ারি থেকে শুরু হচ্ছে চারদিনের অষ্টম জাতীয় মাস্টার্স গেমস। এতে বিভিন্ন ইভেন্টে আসাম দল অংশগ্রহণ করছে। পুরুষদের ৫০ বছরের বেশি বয়স গ্রুপের ফুটবল খেলায় আসামের দলটি পাঠাচ্ছে বদরপুর মাস্টার্স গেমস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন। আজ দলের অধিকাংশ সদস্য সাইরাং-কলকাতা ট্রেনে বদরপুর থেকে র‌ওনা হয়েছেন। কয়েকজন সদস্য গুয়াহাটি থেকে দলের সঙ্গে যোগ দেবেন। বাকিরা সরাসরি বিমানযোগে পুণেতে যাচ্ছেন।

আজ রাজ্য দলটিকে বিদায় জানাতে বদরপুর রেল স্টেশনে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বদরপুর মাস্টার্স গেমস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সচিব এমাদ উদ্দিন, সহসচিব ইমদাদুর রহমান, কোষাধ্যক্ষ ইন্দ্রজিৎ সিনহা, সহসভাপতি নির্মল ভট্টাচার্য, সদস্য ফিরোজ আহমদ, আব্দুস সালাম চৌধুরী, আবিদুর রহমান, কাজল দত্ত, তাজ উদ্দিন প্রমুখ। সংস্থার পক্ষ থেকে দলকে এক সেট জার্সি উপহার দেওয়া হয়। বদরপুর মাস্টার্স গেমস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সভাপতি জ্যোতির্ময় নাথ এই দলে অন্যতম খেলোয়াড় হিসেবে রয়েছেন। তিনি ভালো খেলার ব্যাপারে আশাবাদী। সচিব এমাদ উদ্দিন বলেন, রাজ্যের বাছাই করা খেলোয়াড়দের নিয়ে দল গঠন করা হয়েছে। এতে সন্তোষ ট্রফি খেলা একাধিক ফুটবলার‌ও রয়েছেন। ফলে, সাফল্য আশা করা যায়। দলের ম্যানেজার হয়ে যাচ্ছেন মকসুদুল আলম চৌধুরী।

Way2barak, January 23 : The four-day 8th National Masters Games will begin in Pune on January 27, where teams from across the country will compete in various events. Assam will be participating in multiple disciplines, and in the men’s 50+ age group football event, the Assam team will be represented by the Badarpur Masters Games Association (BMG).

Most members of the team departed today from Badarpur by the Sairang–Kolkata train. A few players will join the squad from Guwahati, while the remaining members will travel directly to Pune by air.

To bid farewell to the state team, several officials and members of the Badarpur Masters Games Association gathered at Badarpur Railway Station. Those present included Secretary Emad Uddin, Assistant Secretary Imdadur Rahman, Treasurer Indrajit Sinha, Vice President Nirmal Bhattacharjee, and members Firuz Ahmed, Abdus Salam Choudhury, Abidur Rahman, Kajal Dutta, Md Taz Uddin and others. On behalf of the association, the team was presented with a set of jerseys.

The President of the Badarpur Masters Games Association, Jyotirmoy Nath, is also one of the players in the squad and expressed optimism about the team’s performance. Secretary Emad Uddin stated that the team has been formed with selected players from across the state, including several footballers who have played in the Santosh Trophy, raising hopes of a strong showing in the tournament. Maksudul Alam Choudhury will accompany the team as manager.
