Cachar Dist Admin steps up security preparedness ahead of 77th R-Day Celebration

way2barak, Jan 19::—In a proactive move to ensure a peaceful and incident-free celebration of the upcoming Republic Day, the District Administration, Cachar, on Monday convened a high-level meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) at the new conference hall of DC’S office .
The meeting was chaired by the District Commissioner, Cachar, Aayush Garg and witnessed the participation of senior officials from the Police, Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, intelligence agencies and key district departments, reflecting a coordinated and multi-agency approach towards strengthening the district’s security framework.
Among those present were the Additional District Commissioner (Magistracy), Additional Superintendent of Police, Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dholai, Assistant Commissioners, Branch Officers, Circle Officers, and representatives from Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, Army, 6th APBN, SIB, Military Intelligence (MI) and the Airport Director, among others.

During the deliberations, the District Commissioner took a comprehensive review of the overall law and order situation in the district, with special emphasis on border security, including vigilance along the inter-state boundaries and the international border with Bangladesh. The meeting also focused on intensifying efforts to curb drug trafficking and other organised criminal activities, which remain a key concern for the administration.
DC Aayush Garg directed the police and all security agencies to remain on high alert and ensure seamless coordination to avert any untoward incident, particularly in view of the Republic Day celebrations. He stressed the importance of intelligence sharing, continuous surveillance and prompt response mechanisms to maintain public safety and communal harmony.
