ভোট সন্ত্রাস রুখতে নয়া অ্যাপ, বসল হাইলাকান্দিতে
New App launched to stop electoral malpractice at Hailakandi

২৬ মার্চ : ভোট সন্ত্রাস রুখতে একটি নতুন অ্যাপ চালু করল হাইলাকান্দি জেলা প্রশাসন। শুধু সন্ত্রাস মোকাবিলাই নয়, ভোট সংক্রান্ত যাবতীয় তথ্য এই অ্যাপে পাওয়া যাবে। মঙ্গলবার হাইলাকান্দি জেলাশাসক কার্যালয়ের ন্যাশনাল ইনফরমেটিক্স সেন্টারে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে এই নতুন অ্যাপ নিশ্চেত্রর উদ্বোধন করেন জেলাশাসক কীর্তি জলি।

এ দিন এই অ্যাপটির উদ্বোধন করে জেলাশাসক জলি বলেন, আসন্ন ভোট সংক্রান্ত যাবতীয় তথ্য এই অ্যাপে পাওয়া যাবে। তিনি বলেন, এর মাধ্যমে অনৈতিক কাজকর্ম রোখা সম্ভব হবে। একটি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, ভোটের সময় কোনও বুথে রিগিঙয়ের চেষ্টা হলে বা কোনও রাজনৈতিক দল বুথ দখলের চেষ্টা করলে এই অ্যাপটি সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষকে জানিয়ে দেবে। প্রাথমিকভাবে এই অ্যাপ জেলার ১০টি ভোটগ্রহণ কেন্দ্রে বসানো হবে বলে হাইলাকান্দি জেলা প্রশাসন সূত্রে জানা গেছে।

March 26: When on one hand Cachar district has abandoned a poll related app title Poll Friend used in 2014 elections, Hailakandi district has come up with a all new-desi app. In order to detect malpractices during forthcoming Lok Sabha polls process, this new app has been developed which will be used in some of the select booths at Hailakandi.  The App uses motion sensors to track time spent in the voting compartment by the voters and send alerts if any voter spends excess time in the voting booth. It also updates real-time data without any human intervention on the percentage of voting and number of voters – polling station wise and constituency wise.

The App has been conceptualised by Scientist (B), National Informatics Centre, Hailakandi, Monsoor Akhtar on ‘Internet of Things’ based solution to provide information on real-time basis to prevent malpractices during the election. NICetr (Sanskrit word for observer) will be installed in 10 polling stations initially. District Election Officer, Keerthi Jalli said that the App is the first of its kind in the entire nation.
