way2barak, 5 April : Based on a reliable intelligence, STF team headed by Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IGP conducted a special operation with the help of SP Numal Nahatta led Cachar Police on 4th April against the transportation of narcotic substances and intercepted one vehicle (Breeza) bearing registration MZ 01X 7204 coming from Dholai side and recovered 22. 164 Kgs Heroine from the possession of one person named C. Lallianhaia (64 yrs) residence of Bawng Kawn, Aizawl on Silchar – Mizoram road at Saidpur village under Silchar PS. The accused has been apprehended and the narcotics were seized along with the used vehicle. Price of the narcotics substance in the black market is about 210 crores.The consignment of the narcotics substance was been illegally transported from Champai district of Mizoram .Further investigation into the case has been on, says SP Mahatta.
