Jadunath Sarkar School of Social Science organised ‘Social Science Fest’

Way2barak, April 25 : The Jadunath Sarkar School of Social Sciences, Assam University, organised a ‘Social Science Fest’ on April 25, 2023. The programme began with the welcome address of Prof. Joyati Bhattacharjee, Dean, School of Social Sciences and Coordinator of the Fest. Raj kinkar Chakraborty, a student of Performing Arts, presented the inaugural song.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, made the presidential address as the Chief guest of the programme. Registrar, Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath graced the occasion as the ‘Guest of Honour’. Prof. Alok Sen, Dean, School of Economics and Commerce, Prof. Piyush Pandey, Director, IQAC, were present in the inaugural session. Heads and senior professors felicitated the guests. Prof. Niranjan Roy of the Department of Economics and Prof. Dibyojyoti Bhattacharjee of the Department of Statistics delivered the ‘Invited Talks’.

An exhibition debate on the motion ‘2024 Lok Sabha Election is a Done Deal for the Bharatiya Janata Party’ was held. Two renowned debaters, Mr. Subimal Bhattacharje, policy adviser and cyber expert from New Delhi and Mr. Joydeep Biswas, Associate Professor, Cachar College, graced the occasion as guest debaters. Besides six research scholars and students took part in the debate, 3 each from the treasury and opposition bench. Prof.

Joyati Bhattacharya chaired the debate as Speaker. Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty of the Department of Political Science delivered the Vote of thanks.
