World malaria day observed throughout the Cachar

way2barak, 25th April : World Malaria Day is observed throughout the Cachar district today. In Silchar Urban a rally has been organised involving district officers, district officials along with urban ASHAs. The rally was flagged off by Dr. M.I. Barbhuiya Chief Medical & Health Officer and Dr. Sumona Naiding Zonal Malaria Officer in presence of Ankita Dey District Vector Borne Disease Specialist, Juhi Hassan laskar District Consultant, Sujoy Barman Asst. Malaria Officer, Ajoy kar Surveillance Inspector and Arijit nath Data Operator. The rally was started at 9 am from SM Dev Civil hospital campus. In silchar urban awareness program conducted in Kuloda Sundori Pathshala and Adharchand high school.

World malaria day is also observed in 8 health Blocks of Cachar, in village level malaria and health staffs conducted school & community awareness camp followed by mass fever surveillance & Insecticide-treated bed nets (ITBN) camp. Along with the above activities publicity through miking was also done throughout the district followed by leaflet distribution.
