CUET is mandatory for taking admission in PG Courses in Central Universities

March 26 : National Testing Agency (NTA) has indeed been mandated by the Ministry of Education and UGC to conduct the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) for admission into postgraduate programmes in central and other participating universities/institutions/ organizations/autonomous colleges. In this regard, a notice has been issued recently on March 20, 2023, by NTA.

The CUET is designed to provide a single window opportunity to students seeking admissions to various postgraduate programmes offered by these universities and institutions. The test is conducted online and assesses the candidate’s knowledge and aptitude in the relevant subjects.By conducting a common entrance test, the NTA ensures that the admission process is fair an d transparent, and provides a level playing field to all candidates, irrespective of their background or location.

In addition to the online application, candidates must also pay the applicable fees for the examination. The fees can be paid through different payment modes such as debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI. Candidates must keep a record of their payment transaction ID and other relevant details for future reference.

It is essential to note that the application process for CUET is time-bound, and candidates must complete the process within the stipulated period. The student can submit the online application form through the website (https://cuet.nta.nic.in) from March 20, 2023, onwards. The last date and time for online submission of the application form is April 19, 2023, up to 5 p.m. Late applications are not accepted, and no extension is granted beyond the specified deadline. Therefore, candidates are advised to apply well before the last date to avoid any last-minute rush or technical glitches.
