Chetana Manch organised Basanta Utsav at Silchar

Way2barak, February 25 : Silchar Nagar Samiti, Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar organised Basanta Utsav at Silchar Gandhi Bagh on 25th February. The programme started with the speech of Mr. Ratnadip Paul, Secretary, Cachar District Committee who mentioned the objective of the event and the Organisation.

The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Sri Kankan Jyoti Saikia, DIG Southern Region. He congratulated Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar for its tireless efforts for the people of the border areas. He acknowledged the contribution of the Cachar District Committee towards the people of the Indo-Bangla border areas during the last massive flood in Cachar.

Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty, President, Cachar District Committee addressed the gathering highlighting the symbols of cultural nationalism and also about the history of the celebration of Basanta Utsav in India. Mr. Suparna Das, President, Silchar Nagar Samiti was also present on the occasion.

The Programme was attended by youths from the border areas of Cachar District. Mr. Robin Bhattacharjee, State Secretary and Mr. Kripesh Ranjan Paul, Secretary, Silchar Nagar Samiti extended their sincere thanks to all for organising and participating in the event.
