Srikona Battalion of Assam Rifles conduct medical camp at a far flung village

way2barak, Dec.19: To achieve the motto of winning hearts and minds of local populace and in continuation with the efforts of Assam Rifles to reach out to the general population and assist them in humanitarian aid, Srikona Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp at a far flung village Abin in Tamenglong District in Manipur on 19 December.

The medical camp was aimed to generate awareness on personal hygiene and sanitation, and assist the locals who have no access to basic healthcare services or knowledge about diseases they are suffering from. A specially constituted medical team comprising a Gynaecologist and a Pediatrician from Silchar Medical College and a Regimental Medical Officer of Srikona Battalion, carried out the health checkup of the local populace and distributed medicines. The camp culminated with distribution of medicines and essential commodities to the villagers.

The local populace of Abin have voluntarily participated in the event and applauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for taking up helping and caring initiative towards the locals.
