Silchar station to get a state-of-the-art facelift; to become more developed than Guwahati station: DRM NFR

way2barak, Dec.9: The Silchar Railway Station will soon be converted into a world class station. Also, Agartala and Dimapur railway stations will be developed to a great extent. These 3 Railway Stations would soon get a state-of-the-art facelift. Once completed, the railway stations in Silchar, Agartala and Dimapur will appear more standardized and beautiful than Guwahati Railway Station. This was said by Joginder Singh Lakhra, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the North East Frontier (NFR) Railway during an inspection of Silchar Railway Station earlier this week.

Speaking with newsmen, DRM Joginder Singh Lakhra informed that the work of electrification on the Lumding- Badarpur and Agartala- Badarpur sections are going on in full pace. He added that once the work of electrification of railway lines are over, then trains like MEMUs could be run which would reduce the travel time to a great extent.
