12 teams comprising 43 participants participate in painting competition organised by Cachar Police on Lachit Barphukan

way2barak, Nov.24: To mark the celebration of 400th birth anniversary of Bir Lachit Barphukan, a wall painting competition was organised by Cachar Police today at the premises of the Office of the  Superintendent of Police, Cachar in collaboration with Shilpangan and Marwari Yuva Manch.

A total of 12 teams comprising 43 participants belonging to different educational & art institutes actively participated in the competition. SP Cachar Numal Mahatta, Addl. SP (crime) Kalyan Kumar Das, Addl. SP HQ. Subroto Sen were present during the occasion. Dr Nirmal Kanti Roy, HoD, Visual Arts Department of Assam university was the judge of this competition. Students from Assam University also participated in this painting competition.
