Stop price hike of commodities & process of excessive municipal tax: TMC Cachar writes to Governor

way2barak, Oct.28: The continuous massive hike in the price of essential commodities in Assam has been a major concern for the common people. This massive increase of price of every items, including, food items, vegetables, medicines, house construction materials etc. has become intolerable. The BJP-led Assam Govt seems to be in deep slumber when the people are suffering relentlessly. This was alleged in a memorandum addressed to the Governor of Assam by the Cachar TMC on Friday.

In the memorandum, Cachar TMC further stated that in addition to such an uncontrolled price hike of essential commodities, Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma-led Govt. is further trying to suppress the people of Assam by initiating the process of increasing the Municipal Taxes of various Corporation and Boards in Assam, which will be a huge unbearable burden upon the people of Assam.

It is in this backdrop that Cachar TMC urged upon the Governor to to take necessary and effective steps immediately. On Friday, a delegation of Cachar TMC led by its president Rajesh Deb submitted the memorandum to the Governor of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar.
