Retd Asstt Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Anil Kr Roy passes away

Aug. 19: Retired Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Govt of Assam and a resident of Central Road, Silchar, Anil Kumar Roy breathed his last at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati on Tuesday due to old-age related ailments. He was 87.

Known for his soft spoken and philanthropic nature, Anil Kumar Roy was also associated with various socio- cultural organisations of Silchar. He was the former Secretary of Government Pensioners’ Association, Silchar.

He is survived by his two married daughters, Aparajita Roy and Anuja Roy Saha, son-in-law, two grandsons and a host of kith and kin. It needs mention here that he lost his wife in the year 2010. His death was mourned by many.
