Sonai police nabs truck loaded with illegal Burmese bettle nuts

Aug 3: Based on tip-off, OC Sonai & staff raided the house of one Sahab Uddin Laskar @ Shabul S/O Lt. Tasraf Ali Laskar, Village- Saidpur Pt. II, PS- Silchar, Dist- Cachar and found a truck without Registration No. and loaded with 120 bags of Burmese betel nut. 20 bags were found at his house also. A total of 07  tones of Burmese betel nut & a truck has been confiscated. Further investigation is going on.
