Electricity bill of June prepared on average basis, bills are rectified as & when approached by consumers: APDCL
Regarding replacement of damaged meters, requisition for additional meters already placed
July 19: During the recent devastating flood a large number of energy meters, including smart meters got damaged or became non-communicating. As a result, electricity bills were prepared against those meters on average basis. Although there were lesser electricity consumption in the month of June 2022 due to flood, but as the billing software automatically takes average of last 3 months in case of inaccessible/ estimated billing, there have been many cases of over billing. This was informed by APDCL Silchar Electrical Sub-Division II on Tuesday.
“We are rectifying the bills as and when consumers approach us. Regarding replacement of damaged meters, we have already placed requisition for additional meters for early replacement. Your co-operation is highly solicited,” added APDCL authorities.
