DC Cachar reviews construction work of an ICU at SM Dev Civil Hospital

May 11: Works are underway for the setting up of an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the first time ever at SM Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar. Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli has taken special initiative for this to happen.

DC Jalli on Tuesday went to SM Dev Civil Hospital to review the ongoing work of construction of much needed ICU there. She was accompanied by the Joint Director of Health Services Cachar,  Superintendent of Civil Hospital, DPM, Civil Hospital fraternity.

Further, the doctors and nurses are being trained at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) for upgrading the quality of services. Equipment for a 5-bedded ICU centre was sponsored by Power grid as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Civil works were supported through MPLADS. Apart from this, emergency room services are also being expanded in Civil Hospital. It is going to be opened shortly alongside the Cabinet Meeting which is supposed to be held on 31 May at Silchar.
