From 2023, CUET to be held twice a year

April 19: Common University Entrance Test, CUET will be conducted twice a year, starting next year or academic session 2023. The undergraduate (UG) entrance exam (CUET) will be conducted twice from the next academic session with a gap of around 45 days after the 12th board exam.

CUET 2022 is being conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). While there is no clarity yet on what changes can be expected in CUET from next year, one knows that the exam will still be based on class 12 syllabus. The CUET 2022 will be conducted in 13 languages including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Through CUET 2022, 44 central universities and 18 other universities will be offering admission to their UG programmes.

As per the previous notice, CUET 2022 registrations are underway and students can register on cuet.samarth.ac.in. The last date to apply for CUET UG admissions is May 6, 2022.  CUET 2022 exam schedule is likely to be announced next week and the application process deadline may also be extended.

Around two lakh candidates have applied for CUET till Monday with most of the applicants are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Delhi and Bihar. The lowest number of applications received from Lakshadweep followed by Daman and Diu, Goa and Sikkim.

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG) – 2022) is being introduced for admission into all UG Programmes in all Central Universities for academic session 2022-23 under the Ministry of Education, (MoE). The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and other remote areas and help establish better connect with the Universities. A single examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities.
