Cheques for microfinance incentive & relief project distributed among beneficiaries in Dholai
BJP Government is known for fulfilling its commitment: Parimal Suklabaidya
April 14: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government is known for fulfilling its commitment. Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya said this while handing over cheques under the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme among the beneficiaries of Narsingpur and Palonghat development blocks of Dholai Legislative Assembly Constituency in Cachar district on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Minister handed over cheques to 619 beneficiaries at a function held in Narsingpur block area.
Addressing a meeting, Minister Suklabaidya said that one of the manifestos of the BJP in the 2021 election campaign was to provide debt relief to all women in Assam who had taken micro finance loans. This historic step, which has been taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, is aimed at helping about 25 lakh women in the state to get out of debt by providing assistance up to Rs 25,000 under the Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme.
Suklabaidya said the project would help about 83,000 women in Cachar district. In this regard, the Narsingpur development block has already included the names of about 8,000 beneficiaries. “A comprehensive plan is being formulated to ensure the self-esteem and empowerment of women. Without social equitable participation of women, overall development of the state is not possible. Narendra Modi at the Centre and Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at the state is working to make the women of the state self-reliant by taking timely steps. The Self-Reliant Women Self-Reliant Assam project has reached far and wide through the state’s self-help groups and various women’s development groups”, Suklabaidya said.
The BJP-led Government is working to usher in development on all fronts. Multiple drinking water projects are underway in the area through the Jal Jeevan Mission. Pure drinking water is being supplied to households through pipelines. Distribution of gas in the first installment 2.0 Ujwala Yojana is in progress. The amount is being transferred to the account of poor families within ten days of every month through Arunodoi Scheme, Suklabaidya said. The Minister said that a blueprint is being formulated to improve the socio-economic condition of the tea workers in the state. Various schemes including electricity and water connections have been implemented.
