Fire breaks out in an abandoned potato godown at Udharbond

April 13: A massive incident of fire took place in Udharbond, Cachar on Thursday. Fire broke out in a potato godown at Pangram area of Udharbond. This potato godown was left abandoned for quite a long time. The moment people saw that the godown was on fire, they informed the fire service.

On being informed, two fire brigades were rushed to the spot. After almost two hours of hard work by the firemen, the situation was brought under control. Infact, sources stated that the potato godown where fire broke was abandoned for quite a long period of time. This godown gradually became a heaven for the gamblers and drunkards. As per locals, fire probably broke out on Thursday due to scrupulous activities of such anti-social elements inside the godown.
