The park will be opened to the public from January 26 after the management committee and SOP are formed.
He further said that no entrance fee will be charged from children and senior citizens. The MLA also mentioned that there is a plan to open a library and restaurant inside the park. MLA Barabhuiyan clarified that the reins of anti-social and indecent activities will be tightened to make the park suitable for recreation for the general public.

She said that if the residents of Sonai develope a close relationship with the park, there would be no place for anti-social activities in the center of the park. DC Jalli further said that the work was delayed due to departmental reasons and the park was also closed. She also expressed her gratitude to all the legislators, administrators and departmental officials for finally opening the park for the public.
Notably, Chandragiri Forest Park has entered its 35th year. The forest park was started in 1987 under the Department of Environment and Forests. Two years ago, in January 2012, former MLA Aminul Haque Lashkar laid the foundation stone of the present allocation. It has been reported that the contractor could not start the work for a long time due to departmental complications.
DFO , Cachar, Tejash Mariswami, Circle Officer Dipankar Nath, Assistant Circle Officer Bikash Chhetri, Sonai Municipality Chairman Anwar Hossain Laskar, UDF Sonai Committee President Khalid Hasan Laskar, Lawyer AK Azad Laskar and Ward Commissioner Ramkrishna Nath were present on the occasion.
