Free pilgrimage scheme promised by AAP if voted to power in Uttarakhand: Kejriwal
Nov. 21: Religious sentiment plays a major role in the politics of India. BJP is often alleged by many for riding to power on the issues of Hindu religion. However, now, the Aam Admi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal has also come up with a somewhat religious appeal.
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that he will launch a free pilgrimage scheme for different religious communities in Uttarakhand, if the party wins the upcoming state Assembly election. Hindus will be taken to Ayodhya, Muslims to Ajmer Sharif and the Sikhs to Kartarpur Sahib.
It needs mention here that the Delhi government runs a “Mukhya Mantr Teerth Yatra Yojana”under which senior citizens are provided travel by AC trains and stay in AC hotels for free. Delhi residents above the age of 60 are covered under this scheme.
